John performed with Blue Chip Stock, "King of the Bands of Alaska", in 1967 playing top 40 and soul music. Drafted during college, John served 2 years in the US Army, toured the Midwest, and California for a few years, before moving to Seattle from the San Francisco Bay area in 1974.
